The Future of Aviation Safety and Aircraft Accident Investigation Symposium 2023-05-17

IPIAAM, represented by the Executive Director for the Aeronautical Safety area, participated on the 3rd and 4th of May, in “The Future of Aviation Safety and Aircraft Accident Investigation Symposium”, held in Dubai and promoted by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the United Arab Emirates, in coordination with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

During the symposium, the following subjects were presented and discussed:

  1. Overview of the future of aviation (flight operations, airworthiness, airspace, air navigation, aerodromes perspectives, within the future role of technology, with a focus on artificial
  2. intelligence;
  3. Recent advances in the area of aircraft accident investigation from the ICAO perspective;
  4. Recent investigations related to new technology (investigation cases to be presented by aircraft manufacturers);
  5. The future investigator’s competency (how the competency-based training and assessment “CBTA” can assist);
  6. The expected roles of international organizations and industry (ICAO, IATA, ISASI, manufacturers, airlines, etc.).

Having as addressees, leaders and experts in aviation safety and aircraft accident investigation, the meeting was an opportunity to increase networking and promote partnerships with similar organizations, namely Boeing, Airbus and the Authority for the Investigation of Aviation Accidents of Morocco.
