On the afternoon of this thursday, May 19, IPIAAM received the visit of the Board of Directors of EMAR, in the person of its Chairman, Eng.º Ivan Bettencourt and the Executive Director, Dra. Lidiane Pimenta, for a meeting.

During the meeting, the institutions addressed various issues related to the domain of the sea and the maritime economy, in particular, the training and development of competences of professionals belonging to the maritime sector, acting in this way, in the prevention of accidents and in the promotion of culture. operational security.

In this context, the possibility of establishing cooperation and partnership protocols for carrying out training actions, workshops and participation in activities or projects of both institutions was discussed.

The fisheries sector and the cleaning of the Porto Grande Bay, taking into account the maritime occurrences with fishing vessels and those caused by the grounding of ships in the Bay of Mindelo, deserved the attention of the institutions, which agreed to make efforts, together with all stakeholders in the maritime and port sector, in the search for better solutions for the materialization of projects under development
